SUMMER TRENDS BY ‘AWP’ !

AWP’s list of summer trends to looking and feeling your easy, breezy,beautiful self.
• FLORALS— Think Gucci, Balenciaga and Herrera! Think SJP in SITC
buying “heaven on 5th”!!! Roses, daisies, poppies, whatever… Floral
prints in colours such as teal, lilac, red, canary yellow and emerald
green are an easy way to add a feminine, summery edge to an otherwise
drab outfit. Unless god graced you with a body like Giselle’s or a
sense of style like Pat Field’s, wear your florals below the waist to
avoid looking like a full bloomed nursery or a curtain on acid. Your
florals can also be added to an outfit in the way of a broach on hat,
shirt, bag or even as a shoe clip.
• TRIBAL PRINTS— AWP, in her endless endeavour to entice hot South
African men. has decided to embrace tribal prints into her summer
wardrobe. Tribal prints worn w/ the right accessory (see Bold
Accessories below) is a sure fire way to attract men from all
continents.
• BOY’S CLOTHES— AWP started raiding her gay boyfriend’s closetbecause the over sized clothing made her look thinner! Designers such as Lagerfeld, Phi, YSL, and Martin Margiela have created masculine pieces with a punky, glam rock edge. Vests, over-sized blazers, granny cardi’s and shrunken jckts look amazing with this year’s trendy high waisted skinny jean or pencil skirt.
• ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY— Anything and everything that contributes
to making the world greener is more fashionable than ever. Take a
lead from trendy model Agyness Dyen who bikes to the shows at Bryant
Park even in the dead winter. So try eating organic, wearing canvas
and dating Leonardo DiCaprio.
• THE SKINNY— Whether you’re in a skinny tee, skinny jeans, skinny
heel, skinny dipping, or as long as you ARE skinny… you’re in fashion.
Just avoid the skinny tie—it’s a little too Ashley Simpson circa
2006. AWP suggests a skinny belt or the suspender for 2008.
• BOLD ACCESSORIES— Whether it be a larger than life straw boho
hat, cuffs the size of your arm, layers and layers of scarves to make
Steven Tyler jealous, knuckle duster rings, or rocker belts… the
BOLDER the better. Mariah even accessorizes when she goes jet-skiing…
